Blue Relay users can be grouped into teams. Using teams allows you to manage users and tasks. For example, you can send a notification to a team as part of a workflow, assign an issue to a team, and assign a workflow task to a team.

You can create a hierarchy of teams using parent teams and subteams. You can use parent teams to quickly assign security settings to multiple users. This allows you to define security settings at a higher level (the parent team) and automatically apply these settings to the subteams below the parent.

Subteams are useful for managing tasks. For example, you can evenly distribute tasks among the subteams within a parent team, or you can assign a workflow task to a team. When a task is assigned to a team, any user who belongs to the team can complete the task, or the task can be claimed and completed by a user in the team.

The attribute panel can be used to assign custom attributes to a team in a key-value pair format. Commonly used examples are Department, Location, etc.  Attributes can be used in expression language conditions across the application. See Expression language or event articles for more details.
