You can compare files to view the differences between them. The files are shown side-by-side in the comparison results. The differences are marked on the files and are also listed in the Compare Result panel.

When running a comparison, you can compare:

  • two versions of the same file
  • two different files
  • one version of a file against multiple versions of the same file
  • one file against multiple files

When you compare one file against multiple files, multiple comparisons are run. For example, you could compare file A against files B, C, and D. In this example, three comparisons would be run: file A vs. file B, file A vs. file C, and file A vs. file D.

Similarly, multiple comparisons are run when you compare one version of a file against multiple versions of the same file. For example, you could compare version 1 against versions 2 and 3. In this example, two comparisons would be run: version 1 vs. version 2, and version 1 vs. version 3.

The comparison results are saved in the Versions panel for each file used in the comparison.
