You can create a new version of a file by uploading a new file. The uploaded file is saved as a new version and the file version number is incremented by 1.
Note You can also promote a revision to a full version. For details, see Promote a Revision.
Click Files in the side panel. (If Files is not shown, see Customize the Side Panel for details on how to add it.)
1. Do one of the following:
If the new file has the same filename as the existing file:
a. Open the folder that contains the file you want to add a new version to.
b. Click Upload in the toolbar. Select the file you want to upload, then click Open. (You can also drag-and-drop the file into the folder. For details, see Upload Files.)
or
If the new file has the same filename or a different filename than the existing file:
a. Open the file you want to add a new version to.
b. In the Versions panel, click New Version.
c. Select the file you want to upload, then click Open.
2. The file is uploaded. The file’s version number is incremented by 1 and a new version is added to the Versions panel.
3. If you used the Versions panel to upload a file with a different filename, a Rename file link appears in the Versions panel. Click this link if you want to change the name of the existing file to the name of the uploaded file.
Note This link will disappear when you close the file. However, you can change the filename at any time using More > Edit File Info. For details, see Edit File or Folder Information.
