You can use annotations to indicate which areas of the document the issue applies to. For example, you could draw a rectangle around a paragraph or you could draw a circle around each occurrence of the issue in the document.

Note  If you don’t want to add annotations because the issue applies to the entire document, click Done, then click Yes to confirm. The issue is saved and is shown in the Issues panel.

 

Move the Annotations Toolbar

To move the toolbar to a different location on the screen, click and drag .

To switch the toolbar layout between vertical and horizontal, click .



Create a Text Annotation

Add a note to the document. 

  1. Click .

  2. To change the font, click .

  3. To change the text size, click .

  4. To change the color, click .

  5. Click where you want to add the annotation. A text box appears.

  6. Type your text. When you’re done, click somewhere else on the document to close the text box.

 

Create a Shape Annotation

Add a rectangle or circle annotation. For example, you could circle a spelling mistake.

  1. Click  or .

  2. To change the shape color, click .

  3. To change the size of the shape border, click .

  4. Click and drag to draw the shape.

 

Draw an Annotation with the Pencil

Use the pencil to draw or write on the document. For example, you could draw an arrow to point at an image that needs to be updated.

  1. Click .

  2. To change the color, click .

  3. To change the pencil size, click .

  4. Click and drag to draw or write with the pencil.

 

Move an Annotation

You can move an annotation to another location on the same page.

  1. Click .

  2. Hover over the annotation you want to move. The cursor changes to a hand and the annotation is highlighted.

  3. Click and drag the annotation to a new location on the page.

 

Delete an Annotation

You can delete an annotation.

  1. Click .

  2. Click the annotation you want delete. The annotation is highlighted.

  3. Select .

 

Undo an Action

You can undo your actions. For example, if you accidentally delete an annotation, use the undo tool to restore it.

  1. Click . Your last action is undone.

  2. If you want to continue to undo your actions, continue to click 

 

Redo an Action

If you accidentally undo an action, you can use redo to restore it.

  1. Immediately after clicking  to undo an action, click  to restore it.
