Why disable manual activation of a workflow?

Workflows are activated from a File view or a Folder view from the Workflows Panel:

By default, the workflows panel shows all workflows that are enabled. However, every workflow that is enabled isn't necessarily a workflow that should be available for manual activation by a user. Several workflows can exist that perform tasks in the background and therefore do not need to be presented to a user for manual activation.

To prevent a user from (accidentally) selecting a workflow, there is the option to disable manual activation.

How to disable manual activation of a workflow

  1. Navigate to the Workflows view.
  2. Select the Workflow from the Workflows list.
  3. Click on the ellipses, and select the Disable Manual Activation option from the drop-down menu.
  4. Confirm disabling of manual activation.

After selecting the Disable Manual Activation option, the workflow is no longer be available from the workflows panel in the file/folder view:

After disabling manual activation:

In this example, A Development Workflow was the workflow selected for disabling manual activation. After disabling manual activation, it is no longer available in the workflows panel for manual activation by a user.

A visual indicator is provided for all workflows that have manual activation disabled:
